Implementation Strategies

  • IISc focuses on the science, technology and development of the selected high impact interventions
  • For deployment, SEED partners with other government bodies
  • Well established relationships with local administrative offices such as district collectorate, public broadcasting department, office of MSME, agricultural universities and department of agriculture etc.
  • These Institutions will collaborate with SID to demonstrate and showcase the developed technologies in Chitradurga
  • Various outreach sessions to be organized to keep in touch with beneficiaries and their needs with the help of relevant government agency to reach the right audience

Science, Technology and Innovation
hub at IISc Challakere

Society for Innovation and Development, IISc is opening a new Science, Technology and Innovation hub (STI hub) in Challakere campus. As an initiative from the DST, this STI hub proposes multiple technology interventions to aid in Chitradurga’s economy. The objective is to achieve:

  • Creation of new entrepreneurs and MSMEs based on science and technology for capacity building.
  • Provide technical know-how to resolve existing issues (e.g. in agriculture, agricultural products and by-products), link with upstream and downstream processes for improved business output, new business opportunities.
  • Incubate start-ups by taking leads from local needs and ideas
  • Organize workshops for broad-based information sharing, self-development, product design, business, entrepreneurial and management related cohorts
